Amanda Alden K1DDN
Amanda’s journey into amateur radio began when her husband challenged her ability to pass the licensing test. In 2009, she earned her Technician license, upgraded to General in 2011, and achieved Extra in 2013.
Amanda has been an ARES regional coordinator for many years, responding to calls for assistance during numerous wildfires and severe weather events. She has also organized several public service events, enlisting the help of hams from across the state.
In the HF world, Amanda enjoys chasing DX, participating in WAS nets, experimenting with new antennas, and ragchewing. She earned her DXCC in 2016.
She is a co-producer of Ham Nation, a podcast with over 575 episodes.
Amanda attributes her passion for the hobby to her husband, Jeff K0JSC, and her cherished mentor, Bob Heil, K9EID (sk).
